Things I love about Hackney – Venetia’s Coffee Shop

I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone. Firstly, post some images which I took of my exhibition last summer. It was called Entering Motherhood and included photographs of about 15 women before and after they had their first child.
These pictures give me a good excuse to mention another of the places that I love in Hackney: Venetia’s Coffee Shop. Venetia’s was the location of the exhibition and is a wonderful cafe. It opened about two years ago and is a regular outing for our household. Great coffee, tea, cakes, sandwiches and atmosphere. Tim and I often take our laptops there to work, but it’s also a lovely place to take the kids for a babyccino and a croissant treat. I love the feeling of community there too. I always seem to bump into someone I know. If you’re passing down the Chatsworth Road, you won’t get to see my pictures anymore, unfortunately, but I would still highly recommend a visit.
