I’m doing a photography project with the World Photography Organisation this weekend. So, I was challenged to go out and photograph portraits of complete strangers on the streets around the Royal Wedding. This was much harder than I had imagined. Apart from having to approach random people and poke my camera in their faces, just getting anywhere near the action was really hard. I turned up at Trafalgar Square at 11am only to find it full, the Mall was the same, so finally I finished up in Hyde Park. The atmosphere there was nevertheless amazing. I was actually on the look out for older married couples for my portraits, but the crowd was generally very young. So instead, I just captured some of the weird and wonderful, patriotic looks people were sporting.
There’s going to be an exhibition of the best images at Somerset House over the next couple of weeks. Check it out if you’re passing.
